Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual worldwide celebration of Free Software. SFD is a public education effort with the aim of increasing awareness of Free Software and its virtues, and encouraging its use and giving back to the community by taking it to the streets and into our
everyday lives. The purpose of Software Freedom Day is to raise awareness among the students, professionals,
policy makers, and general public.
This event is open to the public and entry is free. Anyone interested to know about Free Software can attend this event. Speakers from all over the country will be attending this event and will demonstrate various Free Software and Open Source programming languages.
This event is organized by FOSSindia, which works towards spreading awareness of Free and Open Source Software in the country. This event is a must visit if you want to understand the culture of FOSS better!

UPDATE: Eminent speakers will talk on how to contribute to FLOSS and how you gain from that. There will also be seminars on Open Source CMS & Web technologies. This is something you really must go for, if you're developing your own application or aiming for the Google Summer of Code!
